"Mid-Rise Office Loft" TMP Worldwide is the largest recruitment advertising agency in the world and Monster is TMP's flagship Internet portal. TMP asked Quezada Architecture to work with them to collaborate and assess San Francisco alternatives to finding a warehouse loft in the heart of the "dot.compressed" South Park neighborhood that they preferred. The then tight real estate market challenged QA to create high profile ad-com offices within strict budget parameters in an area between the financial district and the dot-com epicenter. The design challenge was to create ad-com space that references warehouse loft space on the 7th and 8th floor of a typical mid-rise building, what we came to term a "mid-rise office loft." Loft-culture is fast moving, flexible, and relaxed. In response to the limitations of the speculative office building (typically low ceiling heights and deep floor plates), we introduced vertically and loft-like interior architectural elements to reflect Monster's preferred ambiance.
